A Golden Summer Maternity Session in Kansas City

Late July in Kansas City has a magic all its own. The warm breeze drifts across golden fields. The sun lingers just a little longer, wrapping everything in a soft, honeyed glow. For this session, we met at Shawnee Mission Park, where the wide-open skies and natural beauty created a quiet, timeless setting.

This mama-to-be arrived in a flowing, neutral gown that caught the light in the most beautiful way. Every step through the tall grass felt unhurried, as if the evening was holding its breath just for them. I love when sessions unfold like this, when there is space to simply soak in the moment and let the images tell the story.

This session is part of their Watch Me Grow collection, so we will be seeing this sweet family again very soon for their newborn portraits and later for milestone sessions. It is one of my favorite ways to work with families, documenting the chapters as they unfold so that their story can be told in full.
