Cake Smash Session Questions + Answers

When should I book my session?

If you want your images to display at their birthday party, share on social media on their birthday or for invitations, I recommend booking 4-6 weeks before their birthday to allow enough time for editing, viewing and ordering. If you want the images to display at home and to be a true reflection of them as close to their birthday as possible, I'd recommend booking their session on the most convenient date just before or after their birthday!

How do we book a session?

The best way to inquire is to fill out the contact form, send an email to contact@husbandandwifephoto.com or call 913.687.2690. Sessions are not fully considered “booked” until a contract has been signed and retainer paid. The deposit is 50% of the session fee chosen with the remaining balance due the day of your session.

What’s included in your pricing?

Your session time, the edited, high resolution images from the collection you’ve chosen, a print release and online downloading gallery are all included in your session fee. The deposit is applied to your total balance. You can choose to purchase additional images, more than are included in your package, after viewing your proofing gallery for an additional fee. Cake smash sessions also include a custom cake smash set up and white naked style smash cake. We have many props in the studio and can often design the set based of inspiration pictures or by descriptions given! You’re welcome to bring additional props to incorporate into the set!

What should we wear?

We have an awesome style guide we will send out after booking that will help you coordinate and style your entire family effortlessly called Style & Select! Our studio is white and cream with antique wood floors providing a neutral palette!

What if my child is sick?

If your child is sick we will reschedule to the next available date and time that is available and works for you once your kiddo is feeling better!

Can I add a bath to my session?

Yes! If you pick a session that does not include a bath you can add it to your session for $50 when checking out.

Do you provide the cake?

We do! We provide a naked smash cake from Bake My Day in Lees Summit with all of our Cake Smash Sessions. If your kiddo has an allergy or any dietary restrictions just let us know and the bakery can accommodate them! You are also welcome to provide your own cake! If you want a design outside of the provided naked cake we can get a quote for that design as well.
